As the Robert E. Lee steam paddler passes by on it daily voyage, it eerily adds its ghostly beat to this bluesmans soulful song. Cypress trees, Spanish moss and river banks were all to common for a drifting blues musician. The solitude and heart felt percussions of the distant riverboats truly helped create the music and lyrics they all performed. My painting reflects the life of Charlie Patton, who spent his entire career hoboing up and down the Mississippi River. Title song by Charlie Patton
